For The Nth Time, Square Enix Will Not Do A Final Fantasy VII Remake
In a recent shareholder's meeting, an invitee asked Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada asked about the much wanted Final Fantasy VII remake.
Wada replied that after Advent Children Complete, he felt like it was time to give FFVII a break. Wada added, if Square Enix remade Final Fantasy VII at this point in time, it would mean that Final Fantasy is finished.
He believes that they haven't made a game that has exceeded the appeal of Final Fantasy VII. Just like what Tetsuya Nomura's said about it, though the staff would be happy making a remake, Wada wants to make a game that surpasses Final Fantasy VII.
Aside from the fate of the Final Fantasy VII remake, he was also asked aboutDragon Quest X and Square Enix's plans for the future. You can read the full excerpt of the shareholder's meeting on Siliconera.
